OUTSTANDING warmblood stallion Zippo, owned and produced by Karen Brown at her new base at Nightingales Farm, Coolham, is enjoying another impressive season with good results, both at stud and in the competition arena.
Zippo, now six, has been placed on every BSJA outing this season, with Karen on board, and has successfully competed with her in eventing, finishing first at Munstead last year. Karen made a comeback to the saddle last season after she broke her pelvis in an earlier heavy fall. She resumed her good performances in eventing with Zippo, with his outstanding dressage ability standing him in good stead in the sport. He has also formed a winning partnership with his new dressage rider, Holly Lewis, who has been riding him twice a week.
Karen said: “He is having a highly successful season, despite his outings having been reduced due to stud duties and also the fact that myself and my daughter, Atlanta, have taken on our new premises at Nightingales Farm. Zippo now stands and lives there along with some of his offspring.”
Some of Zippo’s other achievements this season include winning a novice qualifier and being second in another for the Winter Regionals, as well as winning two Elementaries, all with British Dressage.
Last year he made headlines with four dressage wins from four on his seasonal debut, winning two novice classes at Merrist Wood and two more at Brinsbury, where his performances were both rated an excellent 75 per cent.
He went on to qualify for the Regional Championships and the Masters at Hickstead’s Royal International Show. To see his foals, some of which are for sale, contact Karen on 07766733188.
