A brace by Seb Watson plus further goals by Steve Innes and Adrian Bettesworth earned Crawley victory and promotion to Kent/Sussex Regional League Division One.
Captain Alex Watson said: “It has been an unbelievable day we knew our season has come down to three crucial games: these two in the league and the Vase final at Lea Valley.
“We knew we couldn’t afford another slip-up and needed to do a professional job then wait for the call to see how the other two teams got on.
“The defence did very well to contain any threat they had and we just stopped them playing through the midfield at all.
“The phone call about Holcombe losing was the icing on the cake and we are delighted to have been promoted.
“I’d like to dedicate it to Steve Wright and Keith Frimley along with anyone that has been down to support us this season.”
Crawley have two more games to focus on April 18 against BBHC which will be for the league title followed by the National Vase final on May 2.
Crawley behind when the Reds defence couldn’t get the ball clear a Gillingham attacker managed to turn the ball into the goal.
Crawley’s Steve Innes picked up the ball with a defender and keeper around him he laid it off to Seb Watson to walk the ball into the empty goal for 1-1.
Crawley soon took a 2-1 lead as Steve Innes hit a thunderous shot into the net.
Reece Banton won a short corner down the left but with Fuller off Seb Watson stepped up and flicked the ball towards the left post for Bettesworth to expertly finish from two yards for 3-1.
Fuller found himself in the area with his back to goal the keeper couldn’t tackle him and the ball broke loose five yards out for Seb Watson to scoop the ball into the net 4-1.
This result along with a last minute win for Brighton against Holcombe meant news filtered through to captain Watson that this was enough for promotion to Division One.
