It was an all-Copthorne affair in the JEM Trophies Ladies Singles competition played at the Half Moon when Beachbums’ Sue Woods overcame runner-up Jules Hankin (Copthorne).

Both players play out of the Copthorne Social Club.

Week 14 of the Crawley Pool League saw some big scores and a shock in Division 1. Special K delivered a strong 10-3 win over Nomads while the Fairways unusually lost 7-6 to the Raiders. Just five points now separate these two formidable teams. In Division 1 last week’s leaders fell heavily against a strong performance by Casablankas. This division now sees three teams tie at the top: Barracudas, Downsman and Rockets.

It continues to be cat and mouse at the top of Division 2, with the Grasshopper team demolishing the Labour Club 11-2 to take the lead.
