Top class racing facilities at Robins Farm Racing Stables, near Chiddingold- previously the base of former trainer Peter Winkworth- are to be the new base for Sheikh Fahad Al Thani, a successful Qatari racing enthusiast.

The Jackson-Stops & Staff Midhurst office has achieved the sale of this imnpressive racing yard, which was marketed with a guide price of £3.5 million, by experienced property agent, Andrew Ferrier, and his son, Chartered Surveyor, Nick Ferrier, of Jackson-Stops & Staff. The sale was arranged twithin two months of the launch.

Set in just under 50 acres, Robins Farm has operated as a racing establishment since 1999. It has impressive facilities for both horses and staff, including a six bedroom farmhouse, 50 stables, three all weather gallops, schooling strips, horse walkers, parade and separate lunging ring, together expected at a professional racing yard, staff quarters, office space, weighbridge and post and rail fenced, water connected paddocks.

Nick Ferrier of Jackson-Stops & Staff, Midhurst, said: “We aren’t strangers to selling equestrian properties, being in the heart of polo land, but occasionally the racing world presents us with an instruction, as we are a stone’s throw from Goodwood and within easy reach of many national race tracks. “Robins Farm was an interesting property to sell as it has first class equestrian facilities and good on-site accommodation situated amidst truly fabulous countryside. We planned our marketing carefully and an elite purchaser emerged who will propel Robins Farm to even greater height.

Sheikh Fahad Al Thani, a successful Qatari racing enthusiast, has installed a husband and wife team, Olly and Hetta Stevens, to manage and train Pearl Bloodstock horses, however they will also take in and train others from outside.

Olly Stevens said: “The sale of Robins Farm went very smoothly and we are grateful to Andrew and Nick Ferrier. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to move into a location such as Robins Farm. With the support of Sheikh Fahad Al Thani, we are launching Robins Farm Racing Limited which will specialise in training racehorses for a wide variety of clients from this fantastic property, with its top class, private facilities.

“It is ideally located for our purposes, accessible for our clients and in proximity to so many of the country’s leading racecourses.”
