Yet Shoreham were hammered in the last 58 minutes in a contest which saw Horsham re-ignite their promotion ambitions.

With the head coach role up for grabs from next season, Evans and Crushiel definitely took their chances today by sending out a motivated Horsham team that displayed a strong pack mentality.

Eight tries were scored, followed by six magnificent conversions, Ollie Joels showing how practice makes perfect with some fine kicks, helped by new tee-boy Billy.

Two tries from back-row Aaron Bullman, two from winger Rasmus Madum, and one each from James Purbrick, Chris Fennelly and Ben Murphy and Ollie Joels led to a 52-0 victory.

In the end Horsham played a ten minute friendly with Ben Murphy and George Carbone helping out Shoreham. George led Shoreham to a 12-5 victory and showed how well he can play when put in his right position.

Man of the match was Will Ayshford, whose brave effort secured him this season’s first sin bin for our Green Army.
