Foresters knocked down to size by rivals as Clarke quelled by contenders

Title challengers Horsham needed a good result to maintain their position and trebles from Dan Barna and Steve Barby did just that, Tony Catt struggling a bit supported with a single.

Dave Steel & Csaba Balint posted one each for Foresters with Johnny Clarke not troubling the scorers.

Another treble and Man of the match for Rory Scott as he led his team from the front, Shalim Ahmed & Matt Van Yperen

found the going tough although Shalim lost out in two 5 setters, 7 - 11 and 8 - 11 in the 5th. Phil Nicholls, Brian Risby and Matt Craig played well and all posted doubles.

Horsham B 2 Foresters A 7

Last year’s champions picked up 7 points in what could have been a tricky encounter, however trebles for the superb duo of Wes Bush Harris and Adam Todd, well supported by Mike Robinson put 7 points in the Foresters kit bag.

Son Dan picked up a single losing the other two in 5, Mark Collins put up 1 and just missed a second going down 14 - 16 to Wes in the fifth.

Horsham C 1 Crawley B 8

No mercy here, a powerful Crawley outfit put the bite on Horsham and did not let go.

Good trebles for Barrie Gilbert and Mayur Majithia and a double for Sai Man Yau overpowered George Hazell, Graham Carter and Alex Morrison, Horsham’s only point coming from Alex.
