Jogger Neil delights at Barns Green triumph

Neil Boniface of Horsham Joggers stormed to victory in Sunday’s Barns Green Half Marathon, held in near perfect running conditions and watched by hundreds of spectators who came out in force to enjoy the day.

Neil held of the challenge of his great rival, James Baker of Chichester Running Club, making a break at the six mile mark and staying out in front to win his second Barns Green race - his last victory coming 14 years earlier.

The victory continues Neil’s stunning run of results and once he’d got his breath back he said: “I’m really pleased because I won it before 14 years ago, and I’ve had seconds and fifths (since) so it’s really pleasing to win it.
