It’s a marathon effort for Joggers in a busy week

Eleven Horsham Joggers took part in the Lewes Downland 10-mile race was the latest in the Sussex Grand Prix series.

The tough off-road course takes place amid the awe-inspiring backdrop of the South Downs.

Dean Angell came first in the V55 category and was also first clubman home in 1hr 07min 47sec. Janine Littler was first lady home in 1:26:56.

Two Horsham Joggers took part in the second Downslink Ultra.

The race follows the Downs Link for the 38 miles starting from St Martha’s Hill, in Surrey, and finishing in Shoreham.

Alan Pettitt finished in 5:56:24 and Mal Thornton in 7:08:09.

Alison Gormley ran the Blenheim Half Marathon and took first place in her age category, finishing in 1:39:35.

Two Horsham Joggers competed in the Bournemouth Marathon. Crispin Scott finished in 3:48:43 and Paul Burgess in 4:29:27. Jenny White ran the half marathon in 2:07:20.

Rachael Lloyd-Smith completed the Chester Marathon in 3:13:30, finishing sixth in her age category.

Experienced runner Bryan Camfield sustained an injury on the way round, but finished in 3:20:35.
