Horse rescue trust needs help
Explained founder Pauline Grant:" To give our equines lifelong security, we only loan our rescued animals to approved homes. Some horses and donkeys have recently been returned to the centre, hence the record number on site."
She originally founded the trust at Bolney, later moving to Ashurst before finally settling at Hempstead Farm, Hempstead Lane, Uckfield where extensive outbuildings have been converted over the years and there is ample turnout and grazing.

"This record number is a huge undertaking for hard working staff and volunteers, some of whom come to us from West Sussex. Daily essential tasks are checking each equine with knowledge of their individual problems and needs, followed by checking all fields, fences, gates, automatic water tanks, plus knowing which animals to bring in for worming, farrier, and horse dentists. Anyone is welcome to join our caring winter team " she added.
