Given all the dry weather we have had, in certain places it was a great help to have preferred lies and the weather was kind with only a brief interlude of showers.

There were some great scores posted, with seven ladies scoring above 36 points. Our overall winner, and winner of Div 2, with a spectacular 47 points was Ann Williams (35), who received a 5.5 cut in her handicap and now plays off 29.

Aisling Cloonan (10 now 8) must have thought that her fantastic 43 points was enough to win the event, but it was only good enough to win Div 1. Many congratulations to both ladies.

Other good scores came from Alison Hopson (11) 39pts, Julie Gerken (25 now 24) 39 pts, Jenny Steele (27 now 26) 39 pts, Rachel Addison (19 now 18) 38 pts, and Martine Cunningham (32 now 31) 37 pts. Well done to all the ladies who played in what was a most enjoyable game.

To top off the week for the Ladies, the annual match with the Seniors was played on Friday 21st August. The Sixsmiths Trophy was not won last year but halved. Therefore, this year the Seniors had to give an additional 4 shots to the Ladies. The result was a resounding win by the Ladies, 7.5 to 1.5. The bad news is that next year the Ladies will only receive 3 extra shots. We look forward to the return match.
