YOUTH FOOTBALL: Three Bridges U16s gain first win

Bridges gained their first victory of the season in the Sussex Sunday League, beating Hastings Utd Youth 2-1.

After the team conceded a goal, Billy Towning then levelled the score and in the second half Nick Da Silva scored the winner.

Sussex Sunday Under 15 Youth team progressed to the 3rd round of the League Knock-Out cup with an easy 5-1 win over Patcham United. One goal each from Chandler O’Dwyer, Jamie Soper, Lewis Croal and Jack Rees. The scoring was completed with an Own Goal. Player of the Match was Oliver Fensom-Gobel

A 3-1 defeat by Peacehaven Youth saw the Sussex Sunday Under 15 Colts team out of the League Knock-Out cup with a single goal from Dylan Rajamohan. Player of the Match was William Ilakozimana.

Sussex Sunday Under 14 team maintained their unbeaten Division Two run and still topped the division by beating Broad Oak & Horam 3-1.

Christian Tiley scored after 5minutess followed by Curtis Griffin on 29 minutess and Jack Barlow on 50minutes.

A mid-week game for the Mid-Sussex Under 13 Black team saw them lose 3-1 to high flying Hawks Youth Withdean in Division 2. A single goal from Oliver Houston was not enough to get the team, the first points of the season.

A narrow defeat for the Mid Sussex Under 13 Black team as they bowed out of the League Challenge cup as Hassocks Juniors were 2-0 winners.

The unbeaten run continues for the Horsham Under 12 Youth team as they easily beat Lingfield 10-0. Played 3 and won 3, they are clear at the top of Division “A” by 3 points.

Joshua Neathey increased his goal tally to 10 with four further goals and both Taylor Dixon and Henry Taylor scored two each. Joshua Smithson added another as did Alex Eagle who was also named as Player of the Match.

Another high scoring game for the Sussex Sunday Under 12 Colts team as they triumphed 10-4 over Hangleton Rangers Youth to move into the third round of the League knock-Out Cup.

A hat-trick for Ben Taylor and a brace each for Keiran Smith and Brendan Laryea. Single goals from Tommy Beer, Reid Jenden and John-Patrick Kane sealed the victory.

There were double victories for the Horsham Under 11 Amber and Black teams.

More pressure during the second half led to Bailey Knox scoring two well taken goals, one of which was a beautifully directed header that left the keeper no chance.

The game continued with some nice play on both wings and Louis Brassett performing well as the newest addition to this well established team.

Bridges keeper Ollie Bonwell had the wall all set up, however a high curling kick free left Ollie with No chance but to watch the ball hit the net. Final score 2-4
