Crawley Town full-back Lewis Young is hopeful his side can make it a hat-trick of League 2 away wins on the spin at Barnet on Saturday.

Following a run of three games in a row at the Checkatrade Stadium, Reds are back on the road looking to achieve something they haven’t since 2011.

Between September and October six years ago, Crawley sealed three consecutive away league wins at Aldershot Town, AFC Wimbledon and Northampton Town during their first-ever campaign in League 2.

Having achieved the feat on just the one previous occasion as a Football League club, Young believes it would be a magnificent feat should they take all three points tomorrow.

He said: “If you are managing to win consistently on the road then that is promotion form.

“We’ve been really good away from home over the past month or so and we’ll be looking to keep that going at Barnet on Saturday.

“We go into with some confidence as well, having held the league leaders Doncaster Rovers, then just missed out against a strong team like Portsmouth, in the past two games.

“I think both those performances will now stand us in good stead going into the games we’ve got left.”

Crawley, currently 16th in the standings, begin a run of three games in the space of seven days at The Bees.

With Crewe Alexandra and Grimsby to come after the trip to Barnet, Young sees it as an opportunity to start a strong finish to the campaign with 11 games to go.

He added: “We’re coming up against teams in and around us in this mini-run of games we’ve got coming up.

“No game is easy in this division and anyone can beat anyone on any given day. We’ve improved so much as a team, considering we were a brand new group at the start of they year, and we’ll be looking to end this season strong.”
