'We know what we need to get into that play-off place' - Captain George Francomb on Crawley Town's play-off ambitions

The Reds sit tenth in the table, six points off Newport County in the final play-off sport with a game in hand over the Welsh-outfit, going into Saturday's home clash with 19th-placed Port Vale

Crawley have put themselves in play-off contention by winning three of their last five games, sparking dreams among the supporters of a return to League One after a six-year absence.

Speaking to the club's official YouTube channel Francomb said: "It's still there for us. I still believe it's in our own hands to go and win whatever we need out of the last games.

"In our head we know what we need to get into that play-off place.

"We'll just give it everything we can and leave it all on the pitch and we'll see where it takes us."

John Yems' side go into the game against the Valiants looking to right the wrongs of last weekend's defeat at Barrow.

Jack Powell's goal with two minutes of normal time remaining saw the Reds pull the score back to 2-2.

Crawley looked to be taking a share of the points until Charlie Taylor's 96th minute strike snatched a dramatic win for the Bluebirds.

Francomb revealed that the Reds haven't taken any 'negative energy' from the heartbreaking loss and were feeling refreshed after their first full week off since the beginning of February.

He added: "(We're) full of confidence and not letting the last result affect us.

"We're not looking to take any negative energy from that disappointment last week into Saturday.

"We've had a good rest finally. It's been a tough schedule, so we've had a couple days off to refresh after that and we're ready to push on for the remaining games of the season.

"It's been full-tilt. (We've had) constant matches, training when we can, we've not had many days off at all for a good three or four weeks.

"It was good to get a couple days of rest and get ready for the gruelling schedule that is about to hit us again."
