Warden Park enjoy a hugely successful start to the season

The Warden Park U12 boy's football team have enjoyed a hugely successful start to their season.

The boys have thus far achieved an undefeated record across all four competitions entered, displaying confidence in possession and an excellent shape in defence.

In round one of the National Cup the team faced a very strong Cardinal Newman team at home from which the boys fought extremely well, holding on to win the match 3-2. In round two the team faced Shoreham Academy at home.

Most recently the boys faced Durrington High School in round 3. In very tough and wet conditions Warden Park fought back from 2-0 down to win the match 6-3. Charlie demonstrating his pace is extremely hard to handle, scoring two crucial goals.

Following a bye in round one of the Sussex Schools County Cup, the team were drawn against a talented P.A.C.A squad in round 2. An all-round quality performance starting from the back three calmly playing out from the back, alongside the creativity and strength of the midfielders/attackers allowed the team to ease through with a 4-0 win. Round 3 of the competition will see the team face St Leonards.

Last week the team came up against Sackville in the first round of the District Cup. Another outstanding performance was put in by the team which ended with the boys winning 6-1. Highlight of the match was Cayden’s first time finish into the top right corner to top of yet another flawless performance by the Warden Park team. Exciting times to come for a clearly very talented team and set of individuals.
