In contrast to recent opponents who have inflicted late goals, he prodded home from close range as Lee Carney fired in a free-kick five minutes into added time.

Bridges started in positive fashion. Elliott Romain had already had one drive blocked before he latched onto Marcus Elliott’s neat pass and hit a crisp shot beyond the keeper after only three and a half minutes.

Touray, Romain and Tony Garrod should all have added to the score before Julian Owusu levelled on 30 minutes as he turned and hit a glorious shot from 25 yards.

The game became fairly even for a while, although Garrod failed to punish a back pass and Romain saw a drive scrambled away, the clear-cut chances largely falling to the visitors.

Touray had one ruled out for offside, a rare correct decision for the Assistant on that side of the field, and Bridges continued to create good chances with Garrod forcing keeper Milan Stojsavljevic to not one but two great blocks.

Walton fancied their chances by now despite three superbly timed challenges by Nigel Brake, and Martin Grant had to tip over a good effort from Andy Lomas, who also hit the post.

It looked likely to be another late winner conceded when Ben Hammond drilled in a free-kick after 88 minutes, but the home side’s timewasting came back to haunt them when Touray snatched that last gasp leveller.
