VIDEO: Buckland praises beaten YM players but criticises cup semi-final date

YM put up a good showing but in the end were comfortably beaten 3-0 on Thursday night at Whitehawk.

Boss Buckland though did voice his disappointment at the rearranging of the fixture, which was originally due to take place at Lancing on Monday April 7 before being rained off, as it fell between their hectic end-of-season run in.

He said: “When this fixture was announced, and the timing of it, I was very, very disappointed because it proved one game too many.

“I just don’t think the league have done us any favours in the scheduling of the fixture if I’m honest.

“I’m not hiding behind the result, but you could see for yourself there were a lot of tired players out there.”
