Footballers remember Joe Sharpe on a previous occasion

Joe Sharpe, a bright young man, full of energy, who was an aspiring football coach, lost his life in January.

The sudden loss through illness of Joe hit students and staff at the university very hard, and it was fitting that masses of people turned out for a memorial held at the university on Joe’s beloved top pitch.

The men’s football Club at the uni is now hosting a memorial game in which two teams consisting of Joe’s course-mates and team-mates from the second team will play.

It will take place this Saturday, April 30 at 2pm at the University of Chichester playing fields on their Bishop Otter campus off College Lane.

There’s an open invite to the public to come along. There will be numerous fundraising activities during the afternoon as well as a special performance from the Chichester University cheerleaders’ squad. There will be refreshments available.
