UNDER-15

Following an impressive 7-2 Invitation Cup victory over Barnham Trojans, Bosham’s under-15s capped a fabulous 48 hours by watching England under-21s win at Brighton’s Amex Stadium.

Six separate goal scorers – Ed Kennett (2), Lewis Rustell, Harry Spicer, Tommy Veness, Callum Eugster and Jake Bradwell – helped steer Rick Kennett’s side to an impressive first-round triumph on Sunday, with a trip either Worthing Town Black or Lancing Rangers – who they visit in the league this Sunday – awaiting in the quarter-finals.

As an FA Charter Standard club, Bosham took up a free ticket offer through the Sussex FA for the under-21 match against Switzerland on Monday – with prime seats just behind the dugouts for the Euro Championship qualifier – a game in which the Three Lions ran out 3-1 winners.

Assistant manager Chris Rustell said: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable night – the Amex is a fantastic stadium to watch football, and I’m sure the boys will take away a few memories from the occasion.”

Last season, the current Bosham under-18s saw England women against Germany at Wembley in a similar offer as the village club continues to develop and inspire their players of the future.

More good news for the under-15s comes from a £250 grant from UK Power Networks’ sports bursary for the purchase of training equipment.

UNDER-12

Chichester City Colts 10 Pulborough Pythons 0

Chichester City Colts secured a fantastic win over the Pythons.

An early goal from Jack Kennedy was quickly followed by Harry Angell beating the Pythons keeper and walking the ball in.

Max Hopp nearly made it three but his strike was just wide. Teddy Phillippo put one in off the post for the Colts’ fourth goal.

A bit of magic team work from Angell and Kennedy resulted in a second goal for Angell and the Colts went in at half-time 5-0 up.

The second half started with Angell completing his treble by looping one over the Pythons goalie.

Josh McCulloch saved a few shots to keep his clean sheet. The next Colts goal was powered in by Ben Roberts.

George Purvis twice rounded the keeper, taking the score to 9-0. Sub Matthew Palfrey flipped the ball into the net for a double-figure winfor the Colts.

Man of the match was Max Hopp.

UNDER-TEN

Chichester City Youth Green lost out to Worthing Town Youth in the Lavant Cup final. It was a close-fought game in muddy, windy conditions with both teams working incredibly hard.
