Jared Rance slammed home his fourth and fifth goals of the season as East Preston Football Club cruised to a 3-0 Southern Combination League Division 1 win at home to Midhurst & Easebourne on Tuesday.

Hayden Hunter netted in the first half, while Rance’s brace came in the second half as EP continued their perfect start to the season.

Hunter opened the scoring seven minutes before the break and Rance netted each side of the hour mark as Bob Paine’s side wrapped up another three points.

Paine felt his side struggled in the opening half-hour but got better as the game progressed.

He said: “I felt in the first 30 minutes we weren’t at our best but as the game went on we improved.

“To be in the position we are, with two wins from two and top of the league, is great.

“It’s only early days and we are a new team but things are looking good at this early stage for us.”

EAST PRESTON: Cook; Josh Parazo, Jacob Parazo, Witten, Lyne; M.Smith, Hardman, Barnes; Hunter, Rance, Huet. Subs: H.Smith (Huet), Jones (Barnes), Beaney (Jacob Parazo), Punter, Mottershead.
