The ground is part of the University of Chichester’s Bognor Campus at the bottom of Hook Lane.

The day was originally planned for a game between former and current Predators players but this has now been extended to an open invitation to all-comers – as long as they make a money contribution to play.

A number of parents of Predators youth plaers will take part and sideshows include games like beat the keeper and fastest shot, plus a bouncy castle.

The event is to raise money and awareness for the Chichester Down’s Syndrome support group. Predators player Robbie Nelson and his wife Kelly have given birth to Francesca Poppy, who has Down’s, and the club have offered to raise money for the support group. It is a self-funded organisation that does fantastic work for the local community and Predators have had a connection with them for more than 20 years.

There will be refreshments and lots of activities. If any one wishes to join in and play they should contact Paul Harris by Friday at the latest. He is on [email protected]

Organisers hope Rocks defender James Crane and others from Nyewood Lane, including coach Darin Killpartrick, will be involved.

There is still time to be part of the day in any way so if any business wishes to donate or help, they are urged to get in touch.

Barclays Bank are going to match fundraising efforts pound for pound up to £1,000 while the university have been helpful in allowing their site to be used.

There will be silent auctions, with a signed Barcelona shirt up for grabs, a full-size replica of the FA Cup and a family of four’s year’s pass to Butlins.

The fun starts at midday with the game later in the afternoon which will be kicked off by the chairman of Felpham Parish Council, David Edwards, and Poppy’s granddad Bill Nelson.
