Ross Myers got the only goal to seal Southwick Football Club's spot in the Southern Combination League Division 1 Challenge Cup final last night.
Myers got the only goal 20 minutes from time to ensure Wickers sealed a 1-0 win over current league leaders East Preston in a semi-final clash at Middle Road.
Heavy fog made things tricky for both sides but Wickers bounced back from a 4-1 league defeat at Lingfield on Saturday to book a final date with Langney Wanderers.
Southwick manager John Kilgarriff felt the triumph showed exactly what his side are capable of and said: "We seem to perform well against the better teams and we showed that in this game. The fog made it quite difficult but we kept pushing and defended superbly.
"If we can beat East Preston, arguably the best team in our division, there is no reason we can't go onto win it now. I'll give some a rest in the next couple of weeks as we then prepare for the final next month."
Jared Rance fizzed a couple of efforts wide, while Lukas Franzen-Jones free-kick struck the side-netting in a quiet opening 45 minutes.
Wickers then won it 20 minutes from time thanks to Myers' header, which looped over Chris Cook in East Preston's goal.
SOUTHWICK: Hilfiker; Tucker, Petts, Dunk, McLennan; Cook, Piner, Smith; Presslie, Myers, Groom. Subs: Joe Bidwell (Presslie, 60), Neal (McLennan, 65), Watts (Smith, 70), Lansdale, Carreras.
