Not cricket’s longest day, perhaps, but certainly one of the most dramatic. The full stop to it all was fittingly applied by Stuart Broad taking his sixth wicket of the innings, his eleventh of the match, when Peter Siddle drove to mid-off where James Anderson took a simple catch and hurled the ball high before the celebrations began.
