The 20-year-old had been due to return to parent club Ipswich Town after playing his 14th game for Reds in the 2-0 defeat at Wycombe on Monday.

Manager Mark Yates said: “We’re delighted to be able to keep Josh until the end of the season. He’s enjoyed his time with us, he is gaining valuable experience with every game and it’s an arrangement that suits all parties. I would like to thank Mick McCarthy and Ipswich for agreeing to let us keep Josh.”
