The two, unnamed, 18-year-olds impressed after attending last week’s session, and Colbran will give them a chance to prove they could become part of Horsham’s bid to make sure of safety in Ryman Division 1 South.

Colbran said: “They have come out of a London club’s academy and play for university teams. They were both impressive, one was a big lad who could finish, so I am keen to see what they can contribute.”

Meanwhile, Colbran hopes the return of Gary Charman (groin) and Tony Nwachukwu (ankle) will help maintain the momentum of a bright display against Faversham nine days ago after two postponements. “Positives have come out of not playing,” he said. “We just have to remember how we played against Faversham.”

Colbran also said under-18s captain Greg Gander is on the verge of training with the first team, after the centre back helped Sussex Colleges reach the National Cup final with a 2-1 win at Merseyside. Colbran said: “He is big and strong, he has a bright future.”
