Haywards Heath Town name new joint manager

Haywards Heath Town have announcd club captain Lloyd Cotton has accepted the offer to become joint manager with Shaun Saunders for the coming season.

The Isthmian League south-east division club said in a statement: "Lloyd is an intelligent, technically gifted and extremely passionate footballer who wants to not only help the Heath on the pitch but wants to also learn the art of management from the Heath’s most successful manager in recent years, if not ever.

"Shaun feels that this is appointment will help progress the club to the next level."

Club chairman Mick Cottingham said the appointment was really exciting for the club as it demonstrated that the club was not content with recent successes and was very much looking to the future by injecting new vitality as well as maintaining continuity.

Throughout lockdown both Saunders and Cotton have been working exceptionally hard to enhance the squad by bringing in new players and working on their fitness with Zoom PT sessions.

With the easing of lockdown, the squad have started training regularly at Ardingly College in preparation for the start of the new season.

The club have a number of pre-season friendlies scheduled which include matches against Lewes, Tooting and Mitcham and Worthing.
