He thinks the former Liverpool and Leeds United star combined with former Northern Ireland international Warren Feeney as his assistant will make the 'Perfect Blend.'

Smith cannot wait to start working with the Australian superstar.

"Everyone's excited to see what he's about.

"He was a top, top player and I'm sure we can learn a lot from him.

"Having won the Champions League, he knows how to prepare for the big occasions, which can help when we play our biggest games."

Smith does not think it matters that this will be Kewell's first job in charge of a Football League team.

"You never know until you try it, like making your debut at a young age.

"With his wealth of experience he'll know every aspect of the game.

"He will know about how you go about your job.

"He'll have every aspect covered."

Smith reckons having Feeney as his number two will bring the management team knowledge of League 2.

"I know Warren through playing against him. Speaking to people, I believe he's a great guy.

"He knows the leagues and with him and Harry together, it should be the perfect blend."
