The United Kingdom Minifootball Association (UKMA) is offering the licenses to operate the national teams for a 12-month period.

The initiative, designed to open up the most popular grass-roots sport in the country to even greater excitement, will see the licence holder take full control of the team at European competition and offer the chance – if they wish – to test their managerial skills at the very highest level.

Alex Young, spokesman for the UKMA said: “It gives people the ultimate buzz. There can’t be a football fan in the area who hasn’t sat there watching a game, looked at the manager and thought: ‘I could do better than that!’

“To those people we say now is your chance to prove it– on the European stage, to a TV and online audience of millions of people.”

The licences for England, Scotland and Wales are all up for grabs and Young confirmed there has already been tentative interest in taking them on.

Buying the license will offer a vast range of incredible opportunities. You will own the exclusive rights to operate the national six-a-side team competing with 32 European countries in the annual European six-a-side Championships, termed “miniEURO” which are screened live in eight European countries on state TV at primetime, with an audience in 2014 of eight million people across Europe.

England are four-times veterans of the championships and have reached the quarter-finals in the past. Scotland and Wales have been in the competition on three occasions each, Scotland making the last eight in 2014, while Wales are yet to make it out of the group stages.
