Boss Paul Faili actually thought that Town closed Bridges down much better than the visitors did against their hosts, but equally Faversham tried to shoot whenever possible.

They might even have scored inside the first minute through the ever deadly Stuart King, but he dragged his shot wide while Bridges were caught appealing in vain for off-side.

But Stuart King did fire his side in front after 12 minutes when a rare poor clearance by Jamie Crellin gave Charley Robinson the chance to set up the home striker.

Bridges had the wind at their backs in the first half but often the final ball ran away from them, although Tony Garrod was just over after a defender’s header back gave him a half chance, while the ever busy Steve Sargent flashed a decent effort just wide.

Hakeem Adelakun was making a welcome return from injury and Drew Cooney was looking solid at the heart of the defence, but Bridges needed Colm McAdden to make a couple of good saves before Robertson’s lob was comfortably held.

Bridges could hardly have asked for a better start to the second half as they equalised within four minutes, Matt Whitehead’s deep cross finding John Lansdale lurking at the far post.

Faversham keeper William Godmon failed to deal with it and Adelakun stabbed home from almost on the line!

But within a minute Faversham were back in front when a long cross was fumbled by McAdden, leaving Stuart King an easy finish.

Ben Godfrey had a snap shot held and Adelakun came close with a free-kick, but after 75 minutes Faversham’s most dangerous player Liam King showed persistence and skill for the third goal.

He eventually got the better of McAdden wide on the left and chipped a wind assisted effort towards goal, where even Matt Daniel couldn’t quite clear off the line. An outrageous goal but one that simply had to be applauded.

Adelakun broke through but Godmon held on well, and it was more a case of McAdden making a number of good saves as Faversham upped their game and eventually ran out deserved winners.
