Helly has built a strong committee including now vice-chairman Tim Eade, who has a wealth of knowledge in football across the area.

Andy Burling, who has been in ladies’ football for 15 seasons, has been named AFC Littlehampton women’s manager.

Club chairman Helly said: “I’m delighted that we are able to expand our offering for local football. Andy (Burling), Collette (Wade) and their team will be excellent additions to our committee. It’s an exciting time for AFC Littlehampton and we will do everything we can to raise the status of the women’s game and bring success to the club.”

AFC Littlehampton men and ladies will be holding regular open training sessions throughout summer.

The first session took place last night at The Littlehampton Academy.
