A goal in the opening five minutes by Eddie French was consolidated in the second half with further well-taken goals by Tim Martin and Andre Elkana.

Magpies manager Dave Cocoracchio praised: “We had five players out and those who came in did well which shows strength in depth. Our commitment and dedication was absolutely first class.”

French put his side in the lead in the fifth minute with a far post header following a corner kick.

In the second half Elkana ran up the left wing to the byline beating two opponents on the way and crossed for Martin to side-foot first time into the net in the 63rd minute.

The same two combined again to good effect seven minutes later but this time Martin went on a run down the right, outpacing a Chichester player before supplying Elkana which he volleyed into the net.

Cocoracchio added: Chichester are a young side with a lot of pace in their team. The first half was pretty level and they played some good football without really threatening in the final third.
