Crawley Town interim manager Dean Saunders has praised the club’s board for keeping hold of captain Joe Walsh during the transfer window.
He had feared offers could be made for Welsh duo, Walsh and Gwion Edwards could have left him short of quality.
The Reds received a last minute offer for the Wales U21 international central defender which was rejected.
Saunders said: “Joe Walsh never went so that’s a boost to all of us. Well done to the board for keeping hold of him. We never got a serious offer for what we think he is worth.
“An offer was made which was someone trying to steal him off us in the last few hours of the window and I didn’t have time to replace him. It was a chuckaway offer.”
