Crawley Town suffered back-to-back defeats under John Gregory for the first time and afterwards the Reds boss said the 2-0 loss to Sheffield United came down to a lack of ‘spark’ in the final third.

Conor Coady scored in either half to give the Blades the points from an even Tuesday night game at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.

Gregory’s side enjoyed plenty of possession but failed to convert their half chances while Sheffield United were clinical in front of goal.

“I’m a bit disappointed with us in the final third of the pitch, everything before that, our approach play was excellent,” boss Gregory said.

“I can’t fault anybody for the effort or enthusiasm that they put in. We just lacked that little bit of a spark somewhere, certainly in the last third of the pitch.”
