Rooney wants to show Red Devils fans what he can do

New Crawley Town signing Luke Rooney admitted he has some unfinished business at the Checkatrade.com Stadfium having hardly been seen by Reds fans during his first spell at the club.

The midfielder only played in five games during his loan from Swindon Town two years ago when Crawley were managed by Richie Barker.

Rooney said: “I’m looking forward to showing the Crawley fans what I am capable of.

“It’s almost a case of unfinished business if you like because when I was here before I don’t think I started a game.

“I had a very good meeting with Mark (Yates) and Jimmy (Dack). I think I play my best football as a central midfielder and that’s the role they want me to play so I am delighted to be here and part of what they are trying to achieve.

“I’m looking forward to being back for pre-season next week and getting ready for the new season.”
