Mark Yates praises Crawley’s resolve

He admitted Reds were not in their best form but was pleased they kept going to claim their sixth home win in seven matches.

He said: “Obviously you want to win every game and we weren’t at our best today, but credit to the players they got a win and whether we deserved it is another matter.

“Sometimes you have got to just stick at it, keep going and show some resolve and spirit which we got in abundance which can take us along way.

“Callum Preston had a couple of saves to make and was great. Josh Yorwerth made a mistake for their goal but I am glad he is here.

“They are a big, physical side you have to play up to.

“We worked a bit on set-pieces this week and its pleasing and it’s all about the delivery and if its there then we’ve got people who can get on the end of it.

“There’s lots of pleasing things and I’m not too down because it’s Christmas but I want us to play better and I want us to excite the fans, get them off the seats.
