Crawley Town fan, aspiring sports journalist and Oakwood School student Dylan Boorer, aged 13, watched Crawley Town draw 0-0 with Hartlepool at the Checkatrade.com Stadium. He sent us this report from the game.
Hartlepool moved nine points clear of the bottom two of League after an uneventful goalless draw with Crawley Town trip to the Checkatrade.com Stadium.
Hartlepool’s Nathan Thomas nearly put his team in front but his powerful shot drifted wide but overall it was a boring first with both teams failing to make an impression.
In the first quarter of the second half, Thomas again nearly put his team ahead but his impressive strike hit the crossbar.
With 60 seconds left, Crawley were very close to stealing a victory however captain Sonny Bradley headed wide from three yards out.
There weren’t many great performances in today’s game, which could suggest why there were only two shots on goal by the home side.
With the match attendance low at 1,883, home fans travelled home disappointed as they did not get the win or did they witness a good game.
After the depressing game, I managed to meet Crawley Town’s Gwion Edwards to find out what he thought about the match. “We should have won today, especially with that last chance at the end with a few seconds to go.”
Both teams remain in the same place in League Two after their 0-0 draw.
Yates’ men travel to bottom two side York next Friday hoping they can get three points.
Hartlepool host Wimbledon on the same day with the away side fighting to get into a play-off position.
