In a wind-affected Southern Combination premier match, Horsham created the best chance in the early stages when Sam Schaff cut inside and had an effort goal, but Dave Hook produced a brilliant save, high to his left, to deny the YMCA player.

Chichester found their rhythm and went ahead when Jimmy Wild showed good composure to put the ball in the back of the net.

Not long after he had his second when he was put through one-on-one with the keeper and he coolly slotted home.

Any hope Horsham had of rescuing the game were dashed two minutes after half-time as Dan Hegarty, who has been in fine form this season, scored from close range, giving Chichester an unassailable 3-0 lead.

The win consolidates Chi’s position of eighth in the table and they will be looking to continue their unbeaten run going into the Christmas period.
