Although missing 2 regular 1st team players due to injury and illness it took the Hillians just over 10 mins to take the lead , a long punt up field by keeper Tracey Smith enabling Keeley Wheatley to take possession and provide a defence splitting pass to Chloe Farrell who beat the keeper to the ball and calmly slotted the ball home.

The game continued in the same fashion, long balls from keeper Smith causing all sorts of problems for Eastbourne’s defence with Wheatley , Farrell and Lotti Pollendine prominent in the Hillians attacks whilst Captain Sadie Ashby, Hillians Player of the Match Penny Gittins and Shannon Mcfadden in midfield all kept the forwards well supplied.

With just over 30 mins gone yet another long ball from keeper Smith was latched onto by Hillians top scorer Wheatley who made no mistake to add another goal to her tally .

There was no further goal before halftime with Hill firmly in control and the defence of Danni Bishop, Sharlotte Blythe, Ellie Card and Rhiannon Morley dealing well with any threat.

Eastbourne reorganised their defence in the 2nd half and were more effective in dealing with Hillians attacks and thus were able to give the Hillians defence more problems which were however effectively dealt with.

Subs Jess Gray in midfield and ShinihTuazon up fron contributed well to ensuring no goals were conceded and threats to the Eastbourne goal were continued and with 10 mins remaining Tuazon repeated her actions in last weeks match when she expertly headed home a well placed corner from Gray to put the game beyond Eastbourne’s reach.

This was another game where every single player worked hard , positively and effectively for their team mates as confidence is visibly growing.

With a good mixture of youth and experience the team is confident of making their mark in the Premier Div this season .
