Harris began her career at Lincoln City’s centre of excellence before moving on to Arsenal’s academy 2010.

She progressed to the Gunners’ first-team set-up, and was part of the squad that won the FA WSL and FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup, and she competed in the UEFA Champions League.

The shot-stopper moved to London Bees in 2014, and remained at The Hive for four years before joining Albion on a free transfer.

Brighton women’s first-team manager Hope Powell said: “We are delighted to welcome Sophie to the club ahead of our first season in the revamped FA Women’s Super League.

“It is an area where we were looking to strengthen following Chloe’s (Sansom) departure at the end of last season, and she will increase the competition for places here.

“She already has some good experience at a relatively young age, and I am very much looking forward to working with her this season.”
