Brighton and Hove Albion youth programmes running this month

Albion in the Community (AITC) is running two football programmes for girls and boys aged from six to 11 in the local area this month.

One of these begins on Monday (August 5) at Plaistow and Kirdford Primary School in Billingshurst, and runs for two days, while the other is at Steyning Primary School on August 21 and 22.

The Summer Sports Coaching programme caters to a number of locations elsewhere in Sussex and Brighton.

Special guest appearances will be made by current and former Brighton and Hove Albion FC players at some of the courses.

This year’s Sports Coaching programme is being supported by 36 American Express® volunteers who have been trained to work alongside the AITC coaches at the sessions.

Ivan Mainprize, vice-president at American Express, said: “Every year, hundreds of our employees volunteer their time to support the delivery of important programmes that benefit the communities where we live and work.

“The AITC Sports Coaching programme, is a fun and engaging way to keep children occupied and active in the school holidays.”

Sessions are for girls and boys of all abilities, and children can enjoy shooting, dribbling, fun games, small-sided games and tournaments.

Youngsters can expect to develop and improve their football and general sports skills in a safe, structured and fun environment.
