Captain’s prize goes ona walkabout but it’sall in a worthy cause
Lindfield’s Chris Reynolds hosted captain’s day on Saturday with 10 teams competing in a round robin to find four semi finalists before Chipstead beat a home team in the three-end final.
Various fundraising events meant at the end of the day £535 can now be donated to Chestnut Tree House.
In the over 55 pairs, club members Ian Watson and Keith Holman qualified for the final stages at Worthing after picking up six shots on the last two ends to beat a pair from Sidley Martlets.
Meanwhile, Sue Willmott and Chris Sugarhood have qualified as regional umpires and Geoff Nelson has just re-qualified.
