Wicks, who is part of the undercard when Ben Jones defends his WBO inter-continental feathwerweight title at Crawley’s K2 Leisure Centre, is still yet to discover his opponent.

It has been a fine start to life in the pro game for super welterweight Wicks, who has won all three of his fights.

The 23-year-old’s maiden win came against Kevin McCauley in July last year. Wicks then followed that up with back-to-back victories over Scott Hillman and now goes in search of a fourth straight pro success.

Worthing talent Wicks admitted he cannot wait to get back in the ring and said: “It should be good fun.

“I’m looking forward to boxing again and hopefully getting another win.

“Obviously, I’m still unsure of my opponent but I’ll just go in and give my best on the night.”

Wicks feels fighting on such a special occasion will give him an opportunity to further extend his fanbase.

The evening’s main event will see Jones aiming to defend his WBO inter-continental featherweight title and Wicks believes a glowing performance could see him pick up some additional support.

He said: “It’s nice to be fighting on such a special evening.

“It’s going to be a big night for Ben, but for me as well.

“I think a coach will be going up from Worthing and, if I can perform well on the night, hopefully I’ll pick up a few extra fans along the way.”

In his pro career to date, each of Wicks’ fights have gone the four round distance with him scoring points wins.

However, he admits gaining triumphs inside the distance is something he wants to do.

Wicks said: “Firstly, the victories are most important but to win inside the distance is also great.

“It’s what the fans want to see and hopefully I can score one in the near future.”

Preparations have been quite tricky for the 23-year-old as he struggled with a cold a few weeks back.

But he has been back in full training and is feeling good heading into another crunch bout.

He said: “I had a cold around a month ago which restricted my training a little but I’m back to my best now.

“It would be great if I could secure yet another victory in my professional career.

“If I can manage that, then hopefully I’ll be able to get another good fight after that.

“The main focus is to make sure I win this bout and see where I go.”
