Adastra Bowling Club holds annual Fun Day

Eight teams, which were made up by local companies and family groups and included many individuals who had never played bowls before, came along to play it in a very informal and relaxed atmosphere. There was however a competitive edge as the winners and runners up earned themselves bottles of wine which were kindly provided by our sponsors Station Garage.

Each team played four sets of four ends of bowls against other teams and towards the end of the afternoon excitement was raised by the possibility of their team actually winning. The eventual winners were the Harris Heroes whose team was made up of Pauline & Mike Day, Adrian Michael and Julie Neary. The picture shows the winning team. Congratulations go to not only them but all the other participants who took part. With the bar having been open all afternoon it remained open whilst a free hot buffet was laid on.

I am sure everyone thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon and the club may well have gained one or two new members.
