Whilst I fully understand that individuals can change their mind regarding the political party that they support and change to another, there’s something that I do not understand regarding Councillor Karl Williamson who recently transferred from the Conservatives to UKIP.
Cllr Williamson was voted in as a Conservative councillor by the people in his ward and to my mind, by changing to UKIP, no longer represents those that voted for him as they did not vote UKIP.
This surely should trigger an election in that ward to replace him, whether he re/gained his seat or it went to the Conservatives or Labour.
I personally would not be happy if the person I voted for changed colours mid term. Something is wrong when this occurs and they are allowed to just carry on.
