Letter: Arundel bypass would ruin woodland

Sussex Enterprise (WSG January 25) effectively justifies a second Arundel bypass as being for ‘the greater good.’

It will ruin Tortington and its woodland, but then who goes there?

In reality that is setting the locality against the country as a whole, with the locality almost always losing.

The Greater Good also justifies high speed railways, new airports, wind farms, and development generally.

It also means the greater the population the more good can be done.

We are being picked off piecemeal, for the greater good.

Which, ultimately, is a total contradiction.
