PEOPLE with a connection to the surname Witten are being sought by Beeding and Bramber Local History Society.
Researchers would like to trace the descendants of Frederick Witten, born in 1893, and his brother Thomas, born in 1896.
In 1911, they were living in Upper Beeding High Street with their parents Thomas and Mary. Both served in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment in the First World War but died within ten days of each other in July 1916.
It is known that they had an older brother, Arthur, born in 1886, and a sister, Edith Emily, born in 1890. Edith married Harry S. Keywood of Bramber in 1914.
