West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have received a number of calls from Littlehampton, in particular Clifton Road, South Terrace and the sea front/

A spokesman said: “It is very localised and came about in the aftermath of the short bursts of intense rain that we had this morning.

“Very few properties have had water into them but we have sent out either inspectors or appliances for direct intervention.

“Where properties have had water damage or there is a risk of that happening, we have engaged operations to stop it.”

Rain is forecast on and off for the rest of the day although temperatures are expected to stay above 20 degrees.
