SCANDALS from Steyning’s past, and beyond, are revealed in sometimes shocking detail by Dr Janet Pennington.
The Sussex historian’s Steyning Scandal Walk is a regular feature on the town’s calendar and proves popular with both its residents and visitors.
A group of 18 walkers joined the ramble on Sunday to hear more about the dark past of people living in the town, from accidental death to black magic, from drunkenness to smuggling.
Along the way were some astonishing tales of sexual secrets, which is why the walk is not suitable for children.
Watch our video to see a short extract from the walk. To find out more, join the next Steyning Scandal Walk on Sunday, August, 25, meeting in the Fletcher’s Croft car park at 10am. The walk lasts two-and-a-half hours and costs £2.50.
See next week’s Steyning Herald for a picture feature on the Steyning Scandal Walk.
