Southgate Medical Group threw open its doors last night (December 10) to demonstrate the power of wellbeing.
Dozens of guests gathered at the surgery, in Brighton Road, to hear about many of the non-medical methods used to help people to stay healthy.
Methods included the use of exercise, art and music to overcome conditions such as depression, anxiety and dementia.
Among the people present were the Southgate Singers – a choir made up of members of the Patients’ Forum, patients and others who use the centre.
Stand-up comic Mel Moon had the room in stitches as she took a light-hearted look at her own health issues, while Furnace Green artist Susan Gardner impressed those present with her work, which had helped her overcome depression.
