Held in the Park, the charity event was split into three distances, six miles, three miles and one mile.

In fact, there were so many keen to take part for the one mile part that this was split into two starts, a quarter of an hour apart.

Organisers, headed by Horsham Joggers, along with various volunteers, started work early in the morning sorting out the course.

Those keen for a longer distance set off at 11am for six one mile laps.

Thirty minutes later a bigger group took part in the three mile event and the mass of one-milers, including whole families, finished off the day.

Each group was started with words of encouragement from Horsham District Council Cabinet member Jonathan Chowen.

Apart from a heavy shower late on, those taking part enjoyed a chilly but sunny morning.

Finishers were given a medal and a bottle of water.
