Unusual inheritance - a show pony!

EVERY pony-mad girl's dream came true for teenager Alice Wilson, when she was given a horse of her own.

But 18-year-old Alice '“ who was left the beautiful dapple grey show pony in a friend's will '“ soon ran into financial problems.

Now she is hoping that readers of the West Sussex Gazette will sponsor her or will think of a way she can keep this well-trained animal. The eight-year-old Highland pony is known in showing circles as Guinevere of Whitefield, although she is usually called Gwen, which is her 'stable name'. She is 14 hands high and is fully trained as a show pony.

Alice, who lives at Cobnor Farm, near Cobnor Point, explained that her friend, Sue Varlet, had owned the pony for the past three years.
